MOUNT PISGAH FAMILY LIFE CENTER, MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE

We were retained to work with Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in 2001 to design a Family Life Center building that provided a space for worship and outreach to the community yet was economical. The church also wanted to be able to open the space to the community to exercise the body and the spirit. The ultimate challenge was to provide a design that worked within the boundaries of the small site that sat adjacent to the church’s daycare. The design team provided a concept that supplied the church with a building, approximately 25,000 square feet, which houses a gym, kitchen, workout room, library, and classrooms for under $2 million.
