Spirit Architecture was hired to conduct a Work Session in order to create a clearly defined detailed layout and related costs for a new facility for the Town of Collierville. The new construction consists of a 10,000 SF single-story Courts / Clerks building and 2500 SF two-story Police Administration expansion and 9000 SF single-story Patrol Building.
The Courts / Clerks expansion included a new main entry/lobby on the east with meeting rooms, public toilets, courtroom, prosecutor’s suite, judge’s suite, court clerk’s offices, and support spaces. The Police Administration expansion includes a new police chief’s suite, conference rooms, offices, records, break area, and support spaces.
The renovation consisted of selective demolition and new construction in the existing 11,000 SF two-story Police / Administration and Jail. Site work included expanding the existing west parking lot to become an authorized-only, private parking for patrol cars.
The project was completed in the summer 2011. This expansion/renovation was completed with tight cost control oversight. Although it took over 2 years of physical construction on one occupied building, it was built 12% under budget.
